  We enjoy playing poker so we booked a room at Casino Aztar for a romatic getaway last weekend. Check in went smoothly but things went down hill from there. The route from the parking garage to the hotel elevators looked as though it hadn't been vacuumed in days. Carpet was worn and dated. The interior of the hotel felt stuffy. The weather was pleasant, 60's, and too much heat was being brought into the building. The room itself contained dated furntiture and electronics (19" TV?). We noticed it was warm in the room so we turned down the thermostat and left for dinner and the casino. Both were ok, nothing outstanding but ok, casino was a disappointment in the amount of games available. Only one poker table in the back of the bottom level (two levels below the main entrance). We reurned to the hotel about midnight to find the room was still hot. The front desk solution was to move us to offer to move us to another room but mentioned that it probably wouldn't make any difference as the minimum temp for the hotel was set. Our room was 72 degrees and stuffy. . . not pleasant sleeping. The bed was hard and uncomfortable leaving both of us with back aches the next morning. They may wonder why their business isn't as it should be. . . take a look around. . . clean the corridors, update the furniture and electronics and above all, make the guest comfortable. If we want the room 50 degrees to sleep we should be able to accomplish that. It takes money to make money. We will not stay again. . . a huge disappointment for our romatic getaway.

  Hotel is overpriced for a ""casino"" atmosphere as compared to like harrahs. both wireless internet and on line internet were not working, nor was the keypad or tv remote.

  I stay here several times a year,always have a nice time, the staff are very friendly, and helpful in the hotel.The rooms are real nice. The casino is just Great, people working are very friendly..overall i find it exciting and festive and just makes me feel good to be there with everyone being so nice.
