Parking Lot shady people, room dirty and lacking much

We would have left except it was 10:30 p.m, we were tired and did not have a good idea as to where to go in the area. and besides that our credit card had been billed. We asked for 2 double beds and roll-away, which we received. Walked in ironing board in middle of room, set up with iron, refrig, unplugged and not too clean. There were 5 of us and only two towels and one wash cloth. Coffee pot and no cups or creamers or sugars. Air conditioner clanged, did not sould too healthy. Worst of all, sheets on the one double bed were all spotted and the mattress was not even lined up with the back board, if you can picture that. We did not turn down any covers because of the sheets on the beds. We turned bedspreads and got blankets and pillows from car. The topper, when my 20 yr. old son checked under the bed in the a.m. to make sure nothing was dropped, our bed had a used Condom laying under it and the other bed, had a dirty diaper under it. and as we went to the bathroom a roach ran out. Also the rollaway had only one bottom sheet and no blanket and the mattress was so light you could pick it up with one hand and throw it. We left by 6:30 a.m and no one showered. The worst experience of a lifetime and we have had many vacations. I washed all of our blankets and pillowcases an lysoled our pillows up arrival at our Condo in N.Carolina next day. What a terrible experience!!!

The hotel was not well marked, very hard to find. We could hear the TV in the next room. There were loud parties in the parking lot. The pool was broken. The fitness room was closed. There were weeds growing in the flower pots. Several light bulbs were burned out in our room. There was mildew in the bathroom. The carpets were not clean. The manager did not care. It was ugly, dingy, and horrible. The continental breakfast was scanty at best. It was not the standards I expected from Howard Johnsons.

Rooms were in very poor condition. Heat did not work in 1st room, 2nd room was dirty, shower was very nasty, cracks in tile very dirty looking. carpet was nasty looking. 3rd room was OK carpet was still nasty looking, shower had been redone with tub fitter, was clean. Manager on duty was very nice and helpful, called in 2nd and 3rd room to see if OK.
