We just came back from our 7 day vacation in FWB. The Hampton Inn by far exceeded our expectations. The staff was awesome: friendly, attentive, helpful. The room (we had 2 Queen beds, upstairs w/ balcony and view of beach) was very nice. Super comfy beds, big screen TV, modern bathroom fixtures, fridge, microwave, coffeemaker. House keeping was always available, and kept our coffee and fresh towel supply up! Complimentary breakfast buffet, free Highspeed Internet, they even brought the daily newspaper to our room each day! This 2 story hotel is RIGHT on the white sand beach! You literally step out of your room, walk 10 steps and hit the beach. There are beach chairs and umbrellas available for rent ($25 a day) or you can bring your own and set it up. I have never been on the Gulf coast, and was blown away by the fine, sugar white sand beach, that was well maintained and kept clean! The hotel also has a small pool, but we never used it. Why come to Florida's Emerald Coast to go swimming in a pool? I can do that at home :) I highly recommend the Hampton Inn Hotel to anybody that wants to stay right on the beach, be within minutes driving of Destin harbor, FWB Pier (fishing), Gulfarium, wonderful restaurants, Deep Sea Fishing (go with Olin Marler!!!). We will be coming back for sure, and I for one, can't hardly wait to stay in this hotel!

The staff were what made the difference. We changed rooms once from 2 beds to 1-- the people actually came upstairs and moved our bags for us. The location is great, it's pretty quiet but a very short drive to all the fun stuff in Fort Walton Beach and it was a lot less expensive than the beachfront hotels (though far from cheap!).

The staff was awesome... from the minute we walked in the door, everyday they greeted us by name and the service was great!!!! They couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast every morning was great and served with a cheery attitude. Great warm cookies everyday were served in the lobby. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Fort Walton. We will return!!!! Great place!!!

I stay in this area regularly and I was quite impressed with the staff and the property. I was alsways spoken to when passed on the grounds. One morning I asked about where the closed water fountain was so that I could fill my water bottle before going to the beach. Minutes later a housekeeper knocked at the door with a cold bottled water. The room was clean, fresh and the bed was so incredible. They really have the most comfortable bed. It was a true retreat. Even though I didn't have a view of the beach and water from my room. I was just steps to the beach. My over all stay was fantastic. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area for business or pleasure.

This is a very clean hotel for being right on the beach. Nice rooms in general, but the only rooms with a view of the coast are 4 or 5 on both levels that are at the end of a VERY long hallway. But these rooms are on the Gulfside and worth the walk and the higher cost. The bathrooms seemed newly redecorated and very contemporary. The pool was closed due to the ongoing construction and remodeling. There was no hot tub. We understood that It was their "off season" so there was repair and upkeep going on during the day, but it started before 8AM. Loved that it was on the beach, very close to the attractions in which we were interested. We will use this hotel again, but not without calling ahead to confirm the status of construction and use of the pool.
