I have stayed at the Lucerna many times, and have always been happy with the quality of both the service and the rooms. The upgrade of the park along the river immediately behind the hotel has enhanced the environment around the hotel. It is a great place for a morning or evening walk. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant is great, but a bit pricey. The lunch and dinner are only so-so, but the hotel is close to many good restaurants. The wireless connections usually function well. The staff members are always pleasant and helpful.

This hotel is within walking distance to the center of town and adjacent to a major shopping mall and several very good nearby resturants. It is clean, modern and the staff friendly and largely English speaking. The 4th floor suites are very nice, with all the ammenities expected. This includes hotel-wide free wireless internet. They have a free continental breakfast for 4th floor guests, with the offer of a 6 a.m. opening, but that can range in practice from 6:30 to as late as 8:00, making this flexible schedule something not particularily useful for an early morning flight out. The evening complimentary cocktail hour ( for 4th floor) is a nice addition and was open from 8:30-9:30 pm as promised. The final billing to my credit card was accurate. The taxi from the airport can take as long as 45 minutes, and costs about 150 pesos.
