We spent a weekend here. From the desk clerks to the housekeepers, the entire staff was courteous and friendly. Our suite was very elegantly decorated, with lots of ammenities. The restaurant (The Brandy House) was top notch. The food and the service were outstanding, and at a very reasonable price. I've paid more for less at a lot of other restaurants. All your needs and expectations will be met, and then some. I even asked one of the staff where the ice machine was, and he took my bucket and got the ice for us, and delivered it to our room. Whatever you need, just call the front desk, and they will take care of it immediately and with a friendly attitude.

I stayed in this hotel in January of 08 and it was under construction. The suites had already been completed and are AMAZING: Jacuzzi tub, multi-jet shower, stone floors and counters (including at the wet bar), very comfortable bed, 3 flat-screen TV?s (one in the bathroom), oil paintings, some even have a natural gas fireplace. The hotel was fairly recently purchased by new owners who are updating the entire building while still being open for business - non-renovated rooms are apparently horrible (think roadside trucker hotel). The restaurant-bar has also recently been renovated and is very nice: great food, knowledgeable and friendly restaurant staff. The only bad things I can say about this hotel are 1) it's currently under construction so expect some noise after 9am, 2) the non-renovated rooms are very bad, 3) the hotel staff have not been updated to accentuate the beautiful new facilities, and 4) it is not in the most picturesque location in Monroe, LA, but it is very conveniently centrally located.

Dirty and old
03/02/2007The bathroom was dirty on arrival but it was cleaned quickly. staff was friendly. bar and restuarant was good. rooms really need updating.

Needs Improvement
The hotel is very outdated, the rooms are not kept very clean. i would think that the owner would look into improvements considering that it is giving the garden district ...
