I was excited to stay at a five star resort, unfortunately it did not live up to my expectations. I found the resort to be beautiful but the amenities were certainly lacking. My room had a "bar" complete with a small sink and a coffee maker. I was provided with coffee and tea daily. There was no refrigerator (not even a mini) and no microwave. Five days was a long time to stay without being able to keep even water cold. I was very disappointed. Then the last two days I was there, they decided to turn the ice machines off because the resort wasn't full. Nice! No refrigerator and then I had to hike to the front of the resort to get ice (Did I mention it was 105 degrees?). I was not very happy about this. Also, I had to pay for internet connection, dial-up. Imagine, a five star resort and no WiFi. If that wasn't enough, I had trouble connecting, called the front desk, they transferred me to the IT guy for the IP company, and I was told they (the IP company) needed to turn it on. Nice! Then I was charged for the phone call to the IP company. Unbelievable. I did find the staff to be very pleasant, but it did not make up for the lack of amenities. I will not return to this resort.

A couple of reasons we chose the Wigwam was because it claimed to have a Kids' Camp open all year around (except Christmas) and a pool with a fun waterslide. Well, the kids' camp was closed the weekend we were there "because it is summer and there's not many kids", and the water slide wasn't operating the two dayswe were there (no explanation for that one). Next time we travel with our kids, we are going back to the Point Hilton at Squaw Peak -- it has a great kids camp and a great pool, at a price comparable to the Wigwam. Overall a nice property, a little dated, but seems more in line for golf getaways and adults.

My wife and 3 month old daughter stayed at the Wigwam based recommendations. I would have to say we were a little disappointed. The landscape of the resort is very nice. I wish they would spend as much time and money on the room. We were ""upgraded"" to the better room than what I reserved. The room looks we stepped back in the 80's. Wood panel walls, old bar, and I'm not going to even mention the bathroom/closet. We were surprised that the room didn't have a microwave! Good things: The staff was really nice and to be honest, I didn't get a chance to play golf (to which I read is one really good). The food was really good, although we only did room service. The bed was VERY comfortable! (or maybe we were just very tired???)
