  Our hotel room reeked of cigarette smoke. Even turning the air conditioner on did not help.
  The mattress had plastic covers on them, making them extremely uncomfortable. The room was showing signs of wear, ie, the batteries were taped into the back of the TV remote, the tile in the bathroom was cracked, and the veneer on the furniture was coming up in places.
