I didn't expect much and it exceeded my expectations. An old cinder block motel by a river in the middle of nowhere. Cute picnic tables on the lawn by the river. Clean room, comfortable bed, good TV with all of 10 stations or so. A real throwback. It helped that it was half empty, since you could hear doors closing, showers running, etc. I was surprised that it had WiFi that worked with a good strong signal. It was a good place to stay while checking out the Tyrell Museum, and a handy 1.5 to 2 hours from the Calgary Airport for out trip home the next day.

We had a mixup in our reservations because of booking online and we booked 2 weeks before we were actually supposed to go. In trying to sort all of this out, WE were the ones that kept hounding the hotel to get back to us about wheither we had been charged or not. We had to call 3 times before someone answered our messages. When we got there, we found that there was no breakfast and nothing to do at our hotel (no pool etc...) Not fun when we were on a family vacation! We ended up going for a walk through along the river path and that was nice. Not what we were expecting! Drumheller was awesome, but the Travelodge was NOT. For $10 more we could have stayed at a much nicer hotel (up the road) which had a pool AND a continental breakfast included. Not recommended.
