This was our second stay at the Melia in Ixtapa. Their service is outstanding from the front desk to housekeeping and everyone in between. We had two very small problems in our room - didn't know how to work the room safe and the toilet was pluged - called and each time someone came to help us within 30 min. The rooms are very clean and well maintained, the property is beautiful, nightly entertainment was good, food selection could have been better but we are pickey eaters. Love the outdoor chess set! Will return again next year! This is a five star resort!!!!

We can?t wait to go back!!! My wife and I celebrated our anniversary during this trip. The hotel is awesome; there is something to do for every age group. Alvaro and the rest of the Activity Team members will make sure you have fun. Next time we will be taking our kids with us, as they can enjoy the water park and the theme play ground (The Flintstones Land).
The food was fantastic; all restaurants are great, with outstanding service. I will encourage everyone to skip the snack bar in the pool and not to miss the lunch buffet in any of the other restaurants. Not because the snack bar is bad is just that the other restaurants have wonderful lunch buffets.
The fun does not stops when the sun goes down, I?m sure you will enjoy the shows and the local night life.
This resort is away from the main Ixtapa area, so the beach in not crowded at all and gives you additional sense of privacy.
To make a long story short, I was able to rest, have fun and enjoy every second of our anniversary trip. -

The resort was great, the staff was freindly, and the rooms were clean. The pools and water park were wonderful, plenty for my kids to do (they are 2 and 5). We didn't put them in the kids club they had, but saw the other kids many times with the activity director and the looked like they were having a ball. This is for sure a family resort, don't come thinking your getting a romantic get away, or spring break fun, 90% of the vacationers had kids with them. The food was good, the buffets were ok, but the Costa Azul where you needed a reservation was great. The one negative was that all the buffet rest. weren't always open. There were 3 but most nights only two of those were open and one night we were there only one was open. Overall I would recommend this resort to other families. Do take a day trip to Ixtapa island though, and don't book through the hotel. Just walk down the beach to the pier and for 3.50 a person you can get the water taxi round trip ticket. Once you get there there are plenty of options for food, snorkling, what ever. That was a great day!

The staff was so great!!!! Few spoke english, but it was okay. Closed the most dining areas once holiday was over. Need to restrict parents from letting their children hang out at swim up bar while they are no where to be found. That part I was disspointed with. Costa Azul was best dining!
