This is the 3rd time we return to the Hampton Inn in Ft. Myers/Sanibel Area. The hotel is clean, the beds are comfortable and the rooms are nice. This year my family of 4 stayed in the 2 bedroom suite and we were very pleased with the room layout. It also had 2 TV's which was a plus when traveling with kids, a very comfortable king size bed for the adults and a nice little kitchenette. Housekeeping was always sure to replace anything that was used in the room and the free breakfast is a definate plus. It is also very close to Sanibel and Captiva. The downside of staying in a hotel off the island is that you have to pay $6 every time you cross the bridge to Sanibel and parking on Sanibel is $2/hr at the beaches but it still is a bargain staying here b/c with the free breakfast and the cheaper off island hotel rates, it all pays off. The only thing that I would change is the pool size, a little small but still very nice, the temp. is perfect and the tropical gardens around the patio area are beautiful. Planning on returning as soon as I can :)

Overall this hotel is fine and a fairly good way to spend extensive time on Sanibel at a discount from the ridiculous rates for places directly on Sanibel Island as long as you don't mind driving a bit. This is also true for nearby Fort Myers Beach. The hotel offers an extensive Breakfast Buffet from 6AM to 10AM every day which is included in the price as well as full 1 or 2 bedroom suites. The 1 bedroom suite with 2 queen size beds and a pull-out sleeper sofa in the living room kitchen was perfect for our family of 5. The only downsides were the mediocre decorating and the small bathroom where one light switch controls both the outer sink area and the actual bathroom. This meant that everytime someone got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, the light in the sink nook of the bedroom came on too! But we really enjoyed our visit to Sanibel, Fort Myers Beach and Fort Myers proper so we would likely consider staying here again.

04/23/2007Wife on business. i've stayed at much better hampton's than this. cleanliness in bathroom is an issue. property seems to be older than it probably is.
