    If you don't want to pay to stay downtown, need last minute reservation, or have a rental car, this is not a bad alternative. Bus stop outside the hotel, subway close, cab from Rome center around 11-14 Euro, and they have suites for 4 people, which not many Euro hotels have at a reasonable price. Hotel is basic, but clean, staff helpful and friendly.

    there was a problem with our room when we arrived so they sent us to a nearby hotel to stay at for a night. they paid for the taxi to get there, also, when we returned, they upgraded our room for the inconvenience, which was nice. the breakfast was not so great, plus the food places that the hotel recommended we get food delivered from were not good so we had to go away for good food. there was a little park right across the street which was nice because my husband and i could relax and enjoy a nice view.

    I stayed at the Pinewood in the beginning of June for 4 nights and ended up paying for five!!! the management of this hotel is quite greedy, and honestly the prices they charge aren't cheap for the quality of their rooms and their location. I wouldn't stay at this hotel If I knew better!

    train station easy to get to and only two stops away from Vatican City. Rooms have been renovated and the look nice. The bathroom was fantastic wirlpool tub and multi jet shower. the staff spoke excellent english and provided maps and suggestions to destinations. Wish I could have stayed longer!
