This hotel definitely meet my standards. The hotel was all I had hoped for with great location right off the highway, very clean facility & room, and helpful & friendly staff. The lobby was nice with common seating areas & large screen tv. Continental breakfast offered standard fare which was okay. In the room, they have opted to use a system of white sheets/blankets to take the place of traditional bedspread which instills a sense of cleanliness. Beds were firm with 4 pillows to each bed & were labeled as soft or firm. Towels were plentiful & appropriate for number of people in room. Nice large desk with data port. We had 3 comfortable chairs in room. The pool/hot tub was clean & inviting with plenty of towels. Although the exercise room was not very big , it had 2 treadmills, weight machine, & exercise bike & a tv mounted on wall to watch while working out & a water cooler. The only downside was no bathroom right nearby the pool/exercise area although there were ice/vending machines right there. The parking lot was well lighted at night time. We even felt safe enought to walk to nearby restaurants. We definitely recommend this hotel to others.

THis property re-opend a few months ago as a Holiday Inn Express. They did an excellent job of remodeling everything in the rooms, down to the new HI Express shower heads (which are AWESOME) The beds are comfortable, lots of pillows, and the staff is excellent. Don't let the old reviews fool you, this is not the same hotel. I will stay here from now on when I travel to Bloomington.

Room on second floor had a horrible musty smell. There was water damage on the walls, ceiling and mirrors. Hallway even smelled musty. Moved to another room that was slightly better for smell, but many cobwebs. Pool was dirty; very cloudy water. Front desk personnel were nice, but not at all knowledgeable regarding making transactions. I will not be staying here again on next visit.

Room on 2nd floor had TERRIBLE odor - very musty, wet basement smell. Webs in corners. Hallway on 2nd floor (to the left off the elevator smelled) - saw water damage on ceiling in room. Pool was dirty - cloudy water. Clerks at desk nice, but knew nothing and could not help when wanting to change payment method. Not a good experience.
