Forest isn't here and neither is momma so here we go. This is the third time I've stayed at this rundown "resort" and hopefully the meeting I have to attend here will find a new place. Paper thin walls. You can actually hear the people in the shower behind you talking when their in their shower. And its like they were in the room with you! Every room I've stayed in smells. Non smoking rooms are next to smoking rooms and the smell comes through the vents. Restaurant is okay but way overpriced for what you get. This last stay the sink was backed up and the sheets were torn. Staff has always been nice though. Place is NOT worth a $* a night! Shop around. Much cleaner places in the area for less.

Good hotel, bad destination. The Lake is OK but if you don't have a boat there's nothing else you can do, but staying at this OK hotel with silly activities, like who can make the biggest splash, Hullu hoop contests and so on... I did not try the food at he hotel restaurant because it smells like cigarette smoke and looks dirty, so We needed to go somewhere else to have some junk... The reooms are nice and clean, do not expect any luxury. Nice bed and clean shower. The only nice thing is the outlet shopping mall, very good deals.

The Resort was older and could probably be updated from being stuck in the last renovation time period of the late 80's, but I (as a designer) felt it was well maintained, clean, and very comfortable rooms, but they really could use some new poolside lounge chairs. We were celebrating our anniversary of 24 yrs. and chose the package deal called "just the two of us" for a weekend. We loved the chocolate covered strawberries and champagne (though it was cheap stuff), it was fun. We enjoyed our complimentary massages and they were very accommodating to us after our three hour drive to get to the Ozarks. Our favorite employee was X who seem to wear many hats; from bartending by the pool all night to serving up the breakfast buffet in the mornings (which the food was very good). She was very observant of our needs without being asked and she directed us to the night life places around the area. Being our first time ever to the Ozarks, we really appreciated it and had a great time. We would come again to this resort.

Having stayed many times in rooms costing over 300 per night as well as my share of rooms in the * dollar range, I can honestly rate a place impartially. I have also been visiting the Lake for over 20 year and have visited or stayed in nearly every establishment there. The Resort at Port Arrowhead is a fine establishment, make no mistake. However for * and up during peak season and not much less off peak, you tend to expect something in return. Something other than a mini fridge, coffee maker, and unkempt pool. While the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable, this is an aging complex in need of a facelift. The onsite dining is ridiculously overpriced and no discount is given for guests. You even have to pay to launch your boat, paying for a slip I understand. But paying to launch is unheard of. There is a plethora of Hotels and Motels built in the same era (late 60's, early 70's) that are neat as a pin and in the same general vicinity (Bagnell Dam Blvd) in which rooms can be had for less than half the money. $150 and up for a room and nothing else, or $*a night for a room and nothing else? Your call, your money
