The Comfort Suites in Astoria was just what we wanted. It is located on the north end and we could see the Goonie House from the parking lot. You can also catch the trolley (A MUST...so fun and informative!!!!) right behind the hotel on a path that stretches all the way into town. We saw some people walking and it looked nice. It is near the sea lions on the dock too but they were not bothersome at all. Check in was easy and we were even granted a free upgrade to a river view since the hotel was not full. We were on the second floor and could see the river, ships going by, the bridge to the left and the sea lions on the dock to the right. The rooms were clean, quiet and spacious. Our window opened up if we wanted and had a screen to allow fresh air or hear the sea lions. We had two queen beds and a section near the window with a table and chairs, a small couch and a coffee table. The single bathroom sink was located outside the shower/toilet room and was on a long counter. This worked well for us since another person could ""get ready"" at the sink and counter while the other was in the shower/bathroom. The pool was clean and served its purpose with out two kids. The only downfall was that the lighting was a little low. The hottub was clean. The workout room had a treadmill, stair climbing machine and a nice stationary bike. The continental breakfast lasted until the end and had bacon, eggs, waffles, cereal, fruit and other breakfast items. Overall great stay!

We loved the pool and hottub, the exersice room is a treadmill beside the pool, the humidity in the room made it un-usable. We stayed for 5 days on a family vacation and except for room cleanliness we were very satisfied. In 5 days our room was never vacumed, or the sheets changed, we had to leave our garbage by the door or it was not taken. On 1 of the days the bed was not even made. We were traveling with our 6 month old son so I found the lack of cleanliness quite disturbing. The microwave and fridge in the room were very conveniant as well as the Safeway/Starbucks right next door. The hotel is a bit far from town, making it quite a hike to restaurants, theater etc., but the walking trail is outside your door and is beautiful to walk at any time of day, also the trolly is very accessable. I would stay here again but make a point of making sure the room was kept very clean.

I stayed at this this hotel for buisness for over two weeks, and the staff very friendly and made me feel at home. The housekeeping service was exelent, upon returning to my room each day i found my room neat and clean and often times i would find a small note on my bed with little frases like have a great day, or smiliey faces, and just little things like that which made me feel warm and welcome. The thing i noticed is that my coffee pot was cleaned every day with fresh new coffee for me, the sheets were changed, new rolls of toilet paper, and everything was wiped down every day. i am a neat freak so i did check those things and it was done. Ew sounds like a disgruntaled employee who needs to grow up and move on.
over all i would rate this hotel a 10 for everything they have done for me. thanks
