This is the second time I've stayed at the Cos Cob Inn. I have visited for only 2-3 days at a time for family events. I have a brother living nearby. I hve found the Inn to be clean, well appointed, and relatively quiet. I paid $*/night recntly for the weekend . . . a very good price all thing considered. One of the greatest benefits is complimentry access to the club across the street. It has an excellent fitness center, a pool, and what appears to be a nice lounge/restaurant. As a fitness buff, it is perfect for me, making the Inn a great choice for me. The Inn is pretty much self serve in that you find fawning inn keepers waiting to serve your every need, but that is fine with me. You actually cjheck in at the club across the street. The Inn is on a fairly busy road, but I did not find traffic noisy or a particular deterrent. Might not be ideal for young children. The rooms I have stayed in are clean, well-appointed, and sufficiently roomy. I would avoid first floor rooms or the second floor room at the top of the stairs, as these might be a bit noisy from other guests entering and exiting. Don't know for sure if it's a problem, as I have stayed on the third floor each time. I don't beleive there is an elevator, with might make the 1st fllor your best choice if you have a lot of bags or are limited physically. Once again, the combination of the Inn itself and the club access across the street combine to make this an ideal place to stay. I was even able to use one of the club's bikes from their fleet to tool around thearea.!
