I will never stay in this hotel again, and we travel to Charleston on a fairly regular basis, since we live a couple of hours away and attend several events each year in the city. The front desk staff was unnecessarily rude and obnoxious, and several floors of the hotel had no hot water. My son-in-law was leaving on deployment, and the Navy required him to leave from Charleston, his former base, rather than from our home a couple of hours north. First, he and my daughter showed up a couple of hours before we did, and the hotel refused to let them check in, since the reservations were in my name. I called the hotel to tell them it was fine, and the clerk was immediately rude. I told him first to check my daughter's id (her name is the same as mine), gave him my son-in-law's name, and then that I'd be happy to supply my credit card to him over the phone if he needed one in the same name. He told me that I could be anyone calling to check them in, that he didn't care about my credit card, since I wouldn't be paying the hotel, and that I should call "whoever it is you made the reservation through" and talk to them about it, and that they could sit in the lobby all night as much as he cared! All this while my son-in-law was standing there in full uniform, and my daughter in tears. I called the website and they took care of it immediately, but the kids didn't feel comfortable checking in until we were there later, and went back to the base for a few hours until we arrived.

We liked our stay overall, but there were some negatives. The elevator was out of order when we first arrived so we had to lug all our baggage up the stairs. Thankfully we were only on the 2nd floor. I own a housecleaning business, so maybe I'm kind of picky, but the glass surfaces in the room were not clean, nor was the bed well-made. There were constantly cleaning carts standing in the hallways--day and night. However, the price was excellent and it was close to the airport which made travel back and forth easy. The room decor and comfort were adequate.

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel and did not enjoy it at all. Experiences: 1. I got there right at 4pm to check in and it took almost 25 minutes to get to the counter. There was 1 clerk and 3 people ahead of me. After 15 minutes, she called for 'backup' and then 10 minutes later the guy finally came to help her. Great start to my vacation! 2. DON'T get the double beds. I thought that since they had the Sleepnumber for the king beds, they would have comperable beds for the Doubles - WRONG! They were horribly cheap and uncomfortable! The pillows were soft, but that didn't help my back! 3. The drink glasses and ice bucket were disgustingly dirty. Makes you wonder about the rest of the room. The wallpaper and tissue box was coming off the wall in the bathroom. 4. The convenience store located right next to the hotel has bars and bullet proof glass that the clerk stands behind (no joke). Scary. 5. The pool was exceptionally nice and clean. No pool towels were available and when I went to go ask, the counter clerk seemed agitated and sighed heavily (sorry to inconvenience you!) 6. Lastly, the evening I flew home I had red bumps all over my body (like mosquitos bites - but I wasn't outside - and how did they get on my back?). I question whether this hotel has Bed Bugs. BEWARE!! I have never experienced anything like that and within days of getting home, they itched and went completely away. I was very disappointed with this hotel and will NEVER stay here again and would never recommend anyone else. Hands down, THE WORSE!

Comfortable property, although there are other hotels closer to the airport and easier to find than this one. Staff is uniformly friendly. Restaurant was about what you would expect - not busy, to say the least. One night the waiter gave me a free dessert because I was his only customer! Location could be problematic for anyone coming to do any sightseeing - better off staying in downtown Charleston. After 2 nights I still couldn't figure out the remote-controlled comfort bed (but it was still pretty good anyway). Several decent restaurants nearby, but nothing top notch - got to go downtown for that.

Sleep number bed was difficult to get used to the first night, but the second was great!! Hotel was very quiet even though they had a conference going on. The hotel is in a safe area and close to Outlet Mall. The Market and Battery are about 10 min. away. We chose this hotel b/c they have a van service to the Cruise Port. They charge $20 per person round trip, but only charged us $10 ea. They were on time taking us to the port and we only waited 5min for them to pick us up. They offer free parking for the week too! The hotel is older, but very recently renovated.
