This stay was the last night of our California trip before flying out early the next morning. I chose this hotel because I wanted a place close to the airport that was affordable, yet clean and safe. I also liked that it was right on the bay. Although the rooms were on the outside of the building - the area felt safe enough so that was acceptable for a one-night stay. The rooms were small but had a microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator. Beds were average. Pillows were comfortable. Towels were average. Noise level was acceptable. I didn't notice any jet noise to speak of. The bathroom countertop was very large, so that was nice. Next door were two nice restaurants. We chose El Torito because we could get in immediately, whereas the other place had a 45 minute wait. El Torito was great. It was some of the best Mexican food I've had. We got a seat right by a big window that looked out at the bay and we could watch the jets coming in and taking off, which was fun. There is also a nice walking path along the bay that goes for some distance behind the hotels and restaurants.

We stayed here for a layover on the way to Hawaii, and we were very pleased. Some quick notes: The front desk staff was very helpful and kind. There are a couple restaurants in walking distance, and the desk clerk even knew when the last seating at Benihanas was. The neighborhood was very safe, and my wife and I had no qualms about walking back to the hotel after a late dinner. At the airport, the courtesy phone just rang and rang when I dialed the hotel's extension. However, when I dialed the hotel directly on my cell phone, they picked up on the first ring. I never noticed any noise from other guests. Even the planes landing nearby never bothered us. Great breakfast. No hidden charges at checkout. Overall, this hotel offers a great value for the money. I would definitely stay here again.

11/04/2007Enjoyed our stay. nice view of bay and runways. room clean, comfortable beds/pillows. bathroom clean. the a/c did not work at all!!!!
