This place was a great replacement for a trip to Hawaii. The grounds were immaculate and the service was great. Everything you needed was there, plates, silverware, pillows galore, bar- b -que pit, & even robes in the suite we had. There is a shuttle that takes you to the beach, as the walk ;we made once; is a bit of a hike even with paved path. Pets are welcome and there is plenty of grass for the kids to get out on. The views are great and there was an abundance of sea birds, seals and other things to view. It's within close proximity to Monterey and Santa Cruz and a host of activities to enjoy. We will be returning to this resort.

'm a graduate student and wanted to splurge on a nice weekend away to regroup from dissertation writing. I made a very good choice. The Seascape Resort is a beautiful location and, I believe, was worth the money I spent (fyi - summer discounts are available on their website). The property actually reminded me more of a well-kept apartment complex than a hotel. I reserved a studio spa king suite. It was much larger than I expected it to be, and the room was very clean and well-appointed. It included a large spa, microwave, refrigerator, panel tv, patio, separate shower, easy-to-operate fireplace, and a big comfy bed. A couple of issues with my room: (1) The rooms do not have air conditioning, but they do have well-placed ceiling fans. However, the fan in my room had an extremely irritating, and loud, ticking noise that I just couldn't endure and so I used the fan only minimally (thankfully, it wasn't too warm during my visit). (2) While the spa was big and wonderful, the hot water pressure was so low that it took over an hour to fill the thing. Argghh! I ordered room service both nights of my stay and both times my food was at my room within 15 minutes--and it was quite tasty (of course, all I ordered was a turkey burger and fries, but it was so good!). I dined at Sanderlings, the resort restaurant, once, but wasn't overly impressed with the food. But the prices were decent and the view was a-ma-zing. Service, from the front desk to the room service to the restaurant was very good--no complaints there at all. All in all, I had a wonderful, relaxing and much needed solo vacation, and I most definitely recommend Seascape.

Our visit was a huge disappointment. While they may have been 4-star at one time, what we experienced was nowhere close. The rooms were clean, but old and ""tired"", with little or no sound-proofing between rooms or floors. We could hear conversations in rooms on either side, and every footstep from the room above. The bed was listed as a Queen but was actually a Full. Sanderling's Restaurant, in the lobby, was very expensive, extremely slow, and ultimately not very good. We had to cancel our first night's beach fire because the restaurant took nearly 60 minutes to serve our dinner (at $145 for 4 adults and 3 kids). On a positive, the beach is nice and access is pretty easy, especially with the golf cart shuttle to/from the hotel.

We wanted a quick three day, two night trip from Bay Area to Monterey area. There were three of us, including our young daughter. I found the Seagate resort by looking on Travel agency and with the 40% discounts for anyone over age 50 it was too good to pass up. Everything was terrific. Our total for the hotel, including daily resort fees and taxes came to about $250 per day. The front desk was very helpfull and our checkin easy. They told us that except for the restaurants no tipping was necessary. We didn't use them but the bell boys were friendly and offered to help with our bags and they provide free golf cart rides around the resort and down to the beach any time you want.
Our room was supposed to be a one bedroom suite but they gave us a two bedroom villa which was like a two story townhouse. It had a living room/kitchen/bathroom downstairs and two bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs. Very clean and views of the ocean from balconies up and downstairs. We checked in on a Wednesday and left on Friday so things were pretty quiet.
The swimming pools (3) looked very nice and are heated to 80 degrees but it was too cool for us to swim and we had little time. We walked down to the beach a couple times and it was very nice with lots of people and dogs walking and enjoying a great beach.
Palapas mexican restaurant across the street was fun but pricey. Bella Roma in Capitola was great for Italian. A quick 30 minute drive to Monterey Aquarium with lunch at Cannery Row. Cannery Row looking more like Pier 39 these days. Continental breakfast was included each day of our stay. Oops, 300 word limit! -

We ended up spending $* bucks for one nite there. If you stay here you must do the fire on the beach with smores. My kids loved it! There was no air conditioning, although it got plenty cool at night. I didn't think it was worth $*/nt, but then very few hotels ever would be in my opinion.
