We traveled by car from Cape Cod,MA to Stamford, CT for our granddaughter's 1st birthday on 12/27/08. We stayed at the La Quinta Inn for 2 nights.It was one of the best motels we have stayed at in many years & the per night room rate was very reasonable. It was very clean,well maintained, parking was plentiful & the staff was very friendly & helpful. The motel also offered a free continental breakfast which was more than the average continental breakfast. One very large advantage was the location of the City Limits Diner attached to the motel. This is one of the best diners in Stamford & offers excellent breakfasts,lunches & dinners,also homemade ice cream & pastries all at reasonable prices. The location of La Quinta was very convenient-just off of exit 6 traveling southbound on I 95. There are no scenic views from the windows of the rooms,but we were not in Stamford for the scenery.We would highly recommend this motel to anyone who has occasion to be in the Stamford area.

Old, dirty rooms, no hot water for shower

The hotel was OK except it was very old and dirty. There was a fithly whirlpool tub in the bathroom. We called and they came up and cleaned it but it was so old. The housekeeper said they were renovating but hadn't done our room yet. The shower was lukewarm in the morning and we ended up not taking showers. The whirlpool tub was huge (tall) and difficult to get into anyway.
On the positive side, the staff was good and friendly and the breakfast buffet was good. -

11/08/2006The fairfield in was extremely clean... but it is also a new place so i wouldn't expect any less. the breakfast was good... more of a selection than most ...
The fairfield in was extremely clean... but it is also a new place so I wouldn't expect any less. The breakfast was good... more of a selection than most places but it is layed out poorly. Hard to get to what you want.. unorganized.
