  I stayed here because nothing else was available. The hotel is in serious need of renovation. A lot of stuff is old, tired, worn out. In fairness, they did have nice new bedding on the bed, but that is the one and only highlight of the room. Basic things like a deadbolt lockable from the inside were missing. I'm a big guy so no big deal for me but I'm sure it would be a dealbreaker for many female clients. The bathroom was properly cleaned, as best the staff could, but was very old and grungy. The wireless internet was atrocious and I only managed to get on once. I think they use a very cheap router with limited capacity, so when the hotel's full some guests just can't log on...too bad, so sad. The entire hotel stunk like smoke. I'm a non-smoker but can usually put up with a lot...but the stale cigarette stink was intolerable. I checked out after the first night. The bar is right below the rooms and the music is extremely loud, making it hard to sleep when they're partying to until 2am. The bottom line with this place is that it's cheap and if you have no other choice it will do. But if you have another choice, pay the extra coin and stay there. The Holiday Inn is the best value-for-money place in Saskatoon, for **or **more per night it's about 50 times the hotel.
