  I now live in Singapore and traveled to Batam for the first time for a holiday. In the pictures the hotel looks great. But when you arrive you notice that the pictures must be 20 years old. The pool in small and indoors. There once was a pool bar but it has long since closed. The room was old and had a view of an abandoned construction site. The sofa in the room had holes in it and the mattress was not a coal spring mattress instead it was solid foam. The night club downstairs was nice. I have to say that this was the one good thing about the hotel. The hotel must be in a bad part of town. I decided to walk to a club that was across the street and the security guard informed me that it was not a good idea. Even though it is the biggest and most popular club on the island he informed me that it was not safe. There is nothing in the immediate area to walk to or to see. I highly suggest to stay away from this hotel and this island.
