I recently stayed at the Country Suites in Chanhassen while on business and I was extremely happy with the changes the hotel has made. I have stayed here many times in the past but was extremely impressed with the new changes. The hotel is under new ownership that emphasizes superior customer service and an unparalleled experience and I definitely noticed. The staff was super nice and very helpful, the food was great and the location could not get any better. There are a lot of restuarants, bars and stores around the area as well as a beautiful park near by. After speaking in detail with one of the sales staff I learned that the hotel is going through a 4 million dollar renovation that is to be completed in March 2009. The room I stayed in was already renovated and was decked out with a flat screen TV, feather filled duvets, all new furniture, carpet and art. The decor has changed so much and looks wonderful! I would recommend this hotel to all business travelers as well as leisure weekend travelers. If you had a bad experience in the past with this hotel I definitely suggest you give it another try!

Very nice rooms, but a little dated decor. However they were remodeling while we were there so it can only get better. Easy to find and only 20-25 minutes away from the Mall of America, depending on traffic. We had a two room suite and will never stay in a different type of room again. We have a 2 and 5 year old and it's nice to put them in one room so we could stay up in the bedroom. The breakfast was awesome, way more than a bagel and a apple. Waffles, eggs, bacon, pastries, juice, milk, fruit, etc. For meals, Applebees and Buffalo Wild Wings are withing walking distance, but driving is probably easier if you have kids. There is also a movie theatre directly behind the hotel so if you have to kill some time, you can always go there.

This place uses a large amount of a very heavy air freshening product that can cause respiratory problems. When I made my reservation I specifically asked for a fragrance-free room, and when I checked in, none was available so they tried to give me a smoking room. Over the course of my stay I nicely asked that housekeeping not use the spray, but they didn't see the notation or were unable to read it. The desk staff were nice, and all employees seemed to have nasal congestion. I tried to speak with woman who manages it but she was never available. This has not been a problem in other hotels.
