The hotel is gorgeous, but on our third day we accidentally left our camera on the dresser and when we returned it was gone. So that was a negative. The suite is big the bed is comfy and the location is great. You have to pay for an umbrella on the beach and if you don't and are anywhere near it, they fold it up, pull it out and take it away.. That's cheesy. Get food at the local stores and Kihei Da Kitchen, as food at hotel $$$. Breakfast for $30.00, but the fresh fruit is great. POG (passion fruit, orange, guava juice) and lei when arriving at the hotel is wonderful. All in all, a top resort, great experience, and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

we had the full on ocean view on 3rd floor......great view of ocean from both rooms - sitting area and bedroom. Vary spacious rooms and clean. Pictures on website is exactly how it looks. The pool bar is very small for such a large hotel......so beware if you go during busy season, we went in mid-sept is not busy season and it was perfect. The beach is beautiful. WORD TO THE WISE IF YOU PLAN ON SNORKELING....do NOT go on a snorkeling trip, rent your snorkel gear from Maui Drive shop in the Waliea Shopping Center and go snorkeling right at the hotel. travel along the rocks towards the other hotels and you will see the same fish and just a many as you do at "Molokini" plus sea turtles because where the hotel is is "Turtle Town". I would definetly come back here. Best vacation since our honeymoon.

Overall the hotel was slightly disappointing. Having stayed at the Fairmont Lake Louise in Canada we were expecting the highest standard of room and amenities. Frankly the hotel looked a little tired and in need of a renovation. The beach was ok, very small with no activites to speak of. We ended up driving 30 minutes north to the Kaanapali beach on a couple of days during our stay as it had more life and activities for the kids. On the positive side the staff were very helpful and pleasant. We wouldn't stay here again.

We often trade off full-service for family-friendly when staying in vacation destinations, but we didn't have to make that trade-off at the Fairmont Kea Lani. We had a spacious suite with a pull-out couch in the living room. There was a mini-kitchen with a sink, empty refrigerator, & a microwave. And free laundry down the hall. And yet, the hotel was completely luxurious, with all the great full-service touches, like great dining, poolside service, full concierge, etc. My family LOVED staying here & in fact we didn't leave the property for 2 straight days of our 4-day stay. The waterslide provided hours of entertainment to our 8-year-old while my husband & I lounged either poolside in a cabana or enjoyed the beach.

The Fairmont Kea Lani was fantastic! The service from the front desk, valet, room service, etc. was top-notch. We had the time of our lives there. If you are looking for 5-star service, The Fairmont is your best bet. It was a little pricey for our usual budget but it was our honeymoon so we decided to splurge and it was worth it. The suite was large and accommodating with a huge wraparound balcony that overlooked the 3-4 pools and the Wailea beachfront, which was always nice to wake up to in the morning. Highly recommend.
