The motel was a big disappointment. It was not even close to what we have come to expect of Shilo. Given, there was some consstruction under way, but that does NOT account for a room that was not clean. The biggest negative were the workers. They should a least make an attempt at friendliness. At worst they were rude, and made little attempt to deal with requests. I guess understandable English is something I would expect at a motel in Portland.

It wasn't the best placed that I stayed in. There were nats (fruit flys) everywhere in the room. My daughters and I couldn't figure it out, we didn't bring fruit. Otherwise it was ok.

I stayed here after coming into town for Lasik surgery. The room and staff exceeded my expectations. Breakfast was ok, but I was not there for breakfast. The check out time is 12! After my Lasik follow up I was able to go back and take a nap, prior to checking out. I do have to reiterate that the staff was friendly and always had a smile. This was my first experience with Shilo Inns and I would definitely repeat it.

I arrived very late at night (11:40 P.M.) to check in. The hotel did have my reservation and I received a key. When I arrived at the room, there was a door knocker on the outside of the room. The document requested service for the room. I opened the door to find the bedspread on the floor and dirty towels everywhere.
I went back to the front desk to get another room. The agent was nice enough but had trouble finding me a clean room. He assigned me to a different room. In the new room, the bedspread had burn holes in it, the bed sheets looked liked they were recently slept in.
I contemplated just sleeping in the bathtub. I was so tired after driving from Tacoma, I just rolled down everything and went to bed. -

I would say that the cost was appropriate for the quality. We had wanted a non-smoking room and got placed on the 4th floor, room 407, which was a non-smoking room. However, half the floor was smoking, which was pointless. Smoke drifts, and there was no seperation, so consequently we could smell the smoke in our room. Not real pleasant. Not bad enough to make us leave though. The hotel is older and definitely shows it. Although clean, and the staff was very nice, I don't think I would stay again, unless I really didn't have enough money to go to a little higher rated hotel. The continental breakfast was sufficient for a quick snack in the morning. I felt sorry for the folks in the rooms near the elevator, because it was a very loud noise when the elevator door opened and shut. The size of the bed was good, king size, but it was very, very firm and really left me sore in the morning. The pillows were fluffy but smallish. Not horrifying, but not an extremely comfortable sleep. The TV didn't work when we got there, but was fixed by the evening of the first day. The bathroom was pretty small, a toilet and shower. The sink was near the door opening, outside of the bathroom. It was very roomy though, with a small couch and table. The location of the hotel was great. Very close to everything we needed to do, and only 25 mins or so from the Airport. All in all it was an ok stay, and again the staff was very nice, and the room was cleaned every day promptly. Our room was also pretty quiet, so that was good.
