You will not love it here but it's not horrible. It's clean enough I suppose. In my room I could hear the showers of the room directly above mine. Kind of annoying. Room was spacious and acceptably appointed. I always look at rooms in terms of what my girlfriend would do if she were there, ie be ok with it or be grossed out by it, she having a much lower tolerance than I for hotel-based hardship. I would say that she would not love me any less for booking a room there, but she wouldn't think any better of me either. The area around the hotel is vaguely depressing but if you're just stopping through for a night it doesn't really matter. Facilities are clean but not pristine. There is a PC downstairs with internet and a laser printer which is free. Helpful for printing out maps, etc. If I were planning a vacation around New Haven I wouldn't book here, but if I'm just in town for a night and need convenient, relatively inexpensive accommodation, I would be ok with it. Other stuff: near the interstate (ugly but convenient), about a ten minute drive to Yale. There was a small room with a treadmill and a step machine that seemed in good condition. They have free wifi and a continental breakfast with cereals, generic muffins, yogurt, a waffle maker, juice, coffee. It does the trick and is good enough for being included in the price. From what I've read of other hotels around New Haven, if you pay any less than this (around $*) then it's gonna be a crappy place, so this is the sweet spot... sort of.

I was in New Haven over the weekend for a funeral. The LaQuinta was conveinently located right off of I-95. The staff were friendly. The rooms are older but clean and the continental breakfast was pretty good. There is a resturant attached to the hotel and a good Italian place next door. Ikea is is also within walking distance.

While the staff here was friendly and helpful, the hotel itself was just 'OK'. The view of the harbor was nice, and it was very close to our destination, but the facility itself was not as modern as I would have liked, and it was noisy at night. There were broken vending and ice machines, old bathroom fixtures, and stained carpets/upholstery, but nothing really gross. All the same, I would have preferred a hotel with more polish, and will look elsewhere the next time I visit the area.

Was extremely pleased with the hotel. Were travelling from Pittsburgh to Martha's Vineyard and just needed a place to stay for the night. Hotel and room were very clean, staff was friendly, switched our room when our reservation was not what I tried to book (wanted two full sized beds, got one queen bed reservation somehow, but the front desk fixed immediately). We did not need a lot of amenities, but I did notice it had a gym and a pool. The free continental breakfast in the morning was surprisingly good. Was easy to access from I-95.

Hotel was very clean, room was kept nicely, bed comfortable. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Offered information about where to find things. Continental breakfast offered a variety of items, great for on the go breakfast. Would stay again.
