  This is really the best place to say in Manaus, but it is often full so you can't get reservations. Tropical Business is a little nicer but is located pretty far out of town. Novotel Manaus has good public areas and a nice staff. They also have a decent internet cafe for US$5/hour. Everything else is about what you'd expect... the rooms are a little less than those used to US hotels would expect, but are basically fine.

  The best aspect of this hotel is its restaurant. It had very good regional breakfast and lunch. The rooms are basic with a simple mini-bar, simple bathroom amenities, and sub-par bed. The humidity in the rooms is incredibly high and room temperature was difficult to control. The internet service was reliable, and TV station choices were fair. Rooms do not have clock radios or irons so be prepared for that. However, for the low price, its not a bad place particularly if you are conducting business in the Industrial District.
