What was that smell? Not pleasant. Hotel desk staff seemed to be puzzled by any questions at all. Side access door was proped open all the time. NOT SECURE. Hotel is not at all satisfactory. Plumbing is 19th century. Try another hotel if looking for a bargain. This hotel is in a great location for a quick breakfast, but that is the only advantage. We will certainly never stay again.

Terribly overpriced for what you get. The wallpaper in our room was peeling from the wall; the sheets were thin and worn; the chairs on the deck were filthy; the carpet in the hallways was dirty and worn; ceiling tiles were missing in several places in the hallways; and many hallway signs were chipped or broken. What's more, the front desk person upon check in was rude and surly to the couple in front of us and to us. He was more concerned about being sure we signed some agreement that no smoking would occur on the balcony than anything else. No smoking is fine - didn't bother us in the least; however, they should be more concerned about upfitting their property than someone smoking outside on a balcony! Overall was just a horrible property and should be closed for extensive renovations!

Stayed in Cherokee for a weekend getaway. This was one of many trips we've made to this town but never stayed overnight. Should have stuck with Marriott. This hotel was the pits. Unfriendly Staff at Check-in, Missing Ceiling tiles all over the hotel. Mildewed rocking chairs out front. Banged up walls, halls that were in desparate need of paint, wallpaper peeling in the bedroom, bathroom tiles that hadn't been cleaned in over a century. Furniture that looked like it came from K-Mart. Room rate was $* per night + Tax. The rate included breakfast which consisted of very old pastry and orange juice dispensers that dispensed water. we ended up eating at another restaurant. Poorly run and not very friendly. We will not stay there again. We emailed and called corporate with no response in over 5 days.

I was very disappointed in the hotel. For the price very mad. First we got there around 4pm, the hotel had no towels, none. We had to wait until we came back at around 9pm to pick them up at the front desk. Secondly the sink was stopped up, the toilet ran continuously. the Tub was backed up. And thirdly wallpaper was peeling or missing. The staff was very accomendating and quick set about fixing things.but this not what I come to expect from your hotels.

Cherokee, NC has many hotels, and some are a lot better than others. This is an average hotel, not fancy but comfortable. The bed was pretty comfortable, but the pillows were the usual tiny ones. Everything was very clean.
They have a shuttle to the outdoor drama. Take this! It is worth the $* when you see the parking at the park.
Our trip was really for nearby Dillsboro and Bryson and they are much nicer looking towns. Cherokee is more touristy. Don't pass up the Smokey Mountain trip.
I would stay at this motel if I didn't find a better one.
