This was our ninth trip to Punta Cana and our first to the Paradisus Punta Cana. The place was perfect in size so that you did not have to walk forever to get around to either the eating areas, beach or front lobby/entertainment. They do have a shuttle for those who want to ride. I enjoyed the variety of restaurants and food. We stayed 8 days, ate at a different place every night. Our room was spacious, bright and cleaned every day. Room service was there for us as soon as we called to restock the mini-bar.

It's a shame having to read all the nonsense you all write about the Dominican resorts. If you don't like going to DR then don't go. Dominicans are kind and friendly people. They work alot to serve you at their best, and this is what they get in return. All you people do is complain and whine about everything. This is The Dominican Republic, a spanish speaking country. Make it your business to learn some spanish, just like you would do if going to France or Italy where people there wont put up with your nonsense, and your force to carry a translation book. What crap is this that new yorkers are use to eating well at all times, that's all bologne all we are use to it's junk food... Before you sit here and whine, think about the beauty of this country and the wonderful services that were provided to you...And please, do check your spelling, you all can be embarrassing...................It clearly shows that you have no life if you sit here and write all your nonsense.........

We booked at the Melia Caribe. On arrival they bounced us to this resort (a sister resort) because they were overbooked. It was a nightmare of a transfer. The accomodations were not as good. Overall the resort is nice but the staff is mostly spanish speaking and not very helpful. The food was marginal on average with a few great meals and some almost not edible. The staff overall was disinterested and you had to make multiple calls to housekeeping etc. to get necessities. Tipping for the most part had little effect on service. We were disappointed in the experience. On the positive side we felt the location was beautiful and did thoroughly enjoy the beach and pool time. Beware of the food though and the hotel swapping ploy used by these chains to fill their sister properties.

The hotel lobby was beautiful, as well as the pool and beaches. The restaurants served edible fare, very small portions, slow service, and disgustingly warm rooms. Hard to enjoy your dinner while sweating In my opinion, its the paying guests that should be kept comfortable. The only entertainment was the small casino and small, short shows. The dancers were very good, providing a medoly of dances. The golf cart transportation was ok at best. sometimes the wait can be long. One night around 2:30 am, we gave up and walked home;not easy while wearing heels and walking on uneven stone walkways; The next night the driver was flying around like the Indianapolis 500 race..had to hang on for dear life; The maids made your bed and that was it. Didnt clean the bathroom countertops, we werent always given wash cloths...had to chase maids to get the cloths and a bar of soap! and most of the maids spoke or understood no English at all. Talk about lack of commpunication. This was a beautiful resort, but it lacked first class service and for that reason, I wouldnt go back.

First I have to say the Hotel gounds are beautiful and the beach is really awesome, probably the only place I have ever been where you can get shady spots on the beach at noon. We were with a group so check-in was niot an issue, However, they told us they would bring the luggage to our room ASAP. I took mine my husbands did not come for an hour. So if you are going take your own bags. Also the room we got was in the back of the Hotel so there was a ton of construction they started at 6:00am we had to get our room moved so again if you are going do not accept a roon where the first two number are 31-39. Dinner Reservations what a joke, even if you make one they will tell you they do not have it, it is a mess. The best part is the restaraunts are empty. When you actually get to sit down the service is terrible plan on waiting an hour for your food. I must say when you get it the food is pretty good. IWe did not have Royal Service maybe that is the key but we were with three people that did and they got the same bad treatment that we did. This place is expensive so if you have not booked yet find somewhere else. DO NOT GO HORSE BACK RIDING IF YOU ARE AN ANIMAL LOVER. The way the horses look will make you cry
