We upgraded from a normal room to the Cupola Suite for a night... and will be going back as soon as we possibly can. I don't usually pull all of the sheets off a mattress looking for a label the morning after I stay somewhere, but I did here!!! The restoration work that's been done is absolutely lovely, the two ladies we dealt with at the front desk were delightful... I've stayed in a number of refurbished/renovated older hotels because I do love history, and this one has done far more right in the process than most. The meal was fine, though being diabetic there wasn't a lot on the dessert menu for me. We will be back as soon as we can...which will be in about another ten days, for a weekend getaway from the Tri-Cities.

I read the reviews prior to going, but decided the charm and nostilgia would be good. The rooms were very dirty, carpet hadn't been cleaned in a while, bathroom was like a morgue. The shower head was so high up the wall that you couldn't reach it to adjust and the water went everywhere ! The smoke alarms when off in the middle of the night for no reason and then chirpped for 30 min after that. Two days after our stay, we were notified that there would be a smoking charge added to the room. We did not smoke in the room !!! All efforts to correct this problem were met with disrespect, from all employees we contacted.

Dining staff needs update on customer service. Hotel was beautiful, but needed some TLC. Rooms need pictures (we were with a group of 22 and all agreed). Beds okay, noisy furnace and water pipes. Bathroom needs more shelves. Had to call room service two days in a row, couldn't match the number of bath towels with hand towels and wash clothes with amount of people in room. Door to TV would not stay open, had to prop with chair. Front desk very helpful and always cheerful. Bar doesn't open until late in the day. Dinner was out of this world, very excellent!

Checked in at the hotel in the early evening.
Checked in and ordered room service. Room service came, but no sliverware, no water, and no condiments. Called room service again to request these missing items.
No hot water in the bathroom.
The dining room and the bar are right below the second floor guest rooms. The noise from the bar persists into late night. We requested to know when, at least, the music would stop. We were told that it would stop by 10 PM. The noise did not stop past 10:30 PM. We had to check out after that. The hotel told us that the management had known about the potential issues of the room and the noise situation from the bar. However, the hotel management claims that Travelocity does not provide the guest contact information, and they were not able to warn us about the known issues.
We were disappointed by the way we were treated.

I was very impressed. The building is remodeled nicely. Good elevator, air conditioning, TV., wireless internet. Room is reasonably large, with high ceilings. The menu and food in the restaurant is very good with a good staff. The room doesn?t really have a desk for a business traveler, but has a large round table if it needs to be used. The bed could be upgraded (similar to what Starwood or Hilton is doing) to make this really a premium room. Nice value for the price. I will stop back with my wife. She would love it.
