First off , if diving in St Croix you will be way off the track . You'd be better off on the west end besides that's where the sun sets. Overall the hotel during our stay Early June 2009 was empty so you felt you were alone. Food quality was very good for an Island in which the food should not be the focal point. Beach was in tough shape and the surface is rocks and plant life. "the Casino is a walk away but didn't visit it. Healthclub facility are minimal with the multigym broken. Summary is you get what you pay for .

The location of this hotel is beautiful - our room was on the Ocean across from a beautiful dock. This hotel is not for 20 somethings, or teenagers as it is located in a remote area (15 minutes by Shuttle to downtown). It is a great resort for beach lovers and people who want to kick back, enjoy the views and take life easy.... All of the staff that my husband I and interacted with were friendly and courteous - except for the front desk staff, who do act as if you are interrupting their quiet time when you approach the desk... Clearly, the desk staff did not attend any time of hotel/guest services training course... Everyone else from the waitressess, to the maids, to the bartenders, were top notch.. Also, remember in this economy, every dollar counts and the deal we got through online was fabulous!.....In addition, I was happy to spend my hard earned money on vacation in one of the United States Virgin Islands verus a non US Island.

X ,highland michigan this was our sixth year at divi resort usvi. if you are looking for true relaxation then div, usvi is where you like to stay. every march is the annual st patricks parade, a event to see and partiipate. the service and staff have always been great. the food in the lower level at big al's bar is reasonable price and wide menu. wait and bar friendly and funny. upstairs in starlite dining good menu and reasonable prices. casino across the street, good live shows, shuttle service to and from. plenty of activities for kids and adults.recommend renting car, driving is on left hand side. other dining outs are five to ten minutes away, recommend duggans at the reef and cheeseburgers in paradise, ten minutes away from divi. dontown christenstead about fifteen minutesfrom divi has great shopping and SAVINGS on almost everything you may be looking for. if you golf there courses about 10 mintues away and diving is right off the beach at divi. the staff at divi whatever your needs will take care of you. would recoomend to family and friends for sure

The hotel facilities were average (there was definitely a need for some maintenance/updating in the rooms) but the staff was unbelievably bad. With a couple of exceptions, the staff seemed to have the idea that having guests at the hotel was a nuisance that they would rather not deal with. The food was not bad in the restaurants but it was very hard to get. On three occasions we walked into the main restaurant only to be told that they were closing (despite being within the posted hours - the actual closing times seemed to be random). When we did finally get a table at the Starlite restaurant, it took over an hour to get served and they had missed one of the items my wife had ordered.

In terms of amenities, they have a lot of watersports equipment available but other than that, there isn't a lot to do. My teenage kids tried to go to the game room but virtually everything in there was out of order (other than one air hockey table). The beach is nice but the water isn't great for swimming.

I can't personally compare this hotel to others on the island (this was my first time in St.Croix) but several locals I spoke to recommended other hotels so I would look at alternatives unless you definitely want to be close to the casino (you aren't close to anything else). If you do stay there, definitely rent a car to get to Christiansted and make sure you try Duggan's Reef Restaurant which is about a 10 minute drive and way better than anything at the Divi.

In summary, I would not stay there again. It is a functional hotel, but this place is not what you would typically expect in a resort type facility.
