We were put in a smoking room that I failed to notice on my reservation so I take responsibilty for that initial error. Comfort Inn was full that particular day and refused to move us to non-smoking despite that I am highly allergic to smoke. The room was sprayed to make it tolerable but the hall was a heavy smoky smell. The room linens did not feel crisp and fresh which gave me the creepy feeling they were not clean even though they surely were. The Continental Breakfast was marginal so we left and went to a restaurant. We were scheduled for 3 nights but left after the first night foregoing that they were pre-paid and happily paid again for better accommodations at another local hotel that was sparkling. We would not stay at Comfort Inn Bedford again.

Was worried because this looked like an older hotel, and it was, but it was okay. Beds were not usual Comfort Inn comfort, rather hard. Nice big screen TV in room was a surprise. Walmart plaza across the drive, convenient. Onsite restaurant was great food, great price. Pool was okay, outdoor, staff couldn't figure out how to turn the lights on after it got dark. Free breakfast in a.m. had a surprise: they stop serving at 9 am. Went down at 8:55 and was greeted with "5 minutes, people!" from the breakfast bar staff, who had a tip basket set up by the trash can. All the other Comfort Inns we stay at have breakfast until 10 a.m., and I'v never seen a tip basket/jar. Got a packaged danish and a cup of coffee at least. Restaurant was closed on Sunday, too (it was a Sunday, of course). Staff had trouble checking us out. Even though we successfully checked in the night before, we were listed as a never having checked in, and told our credit card was denied for some unknown reason. After using lobby internet access to check my account, and 10 minutes of what-the-heckness, they finally re-swiped my card and it went through just fine. Security...the external doors (other than main entrance) all had signs saying they would be locked "for your security" after 10pm. But I had to go to Walmart at 10:30pm and they were unlocked when I left and when I returned. Still need key access to get in, but why keep the sign posted if it isn't enforced? Was an okay place to stay, even on a Saturday night with the motorcycle rally in town, everything around was sold out. Not what I'd expect from Comfort Inn, though.

This is a great hotel! (in 1987)The sheets were thicker than the pillows. The free breakfast included cold biscuits and pancake batter that you used to make your own pancakes! The rooms didnt even have a hair dryer! You had to check one out from the front desk!Do not stay here!
