I stayed at Madden's with my family this past year. We just wanted to get a way for a weekend, and found Madden's on online travel. We typically have stayed closer to home, or gone south, but Madden's turned out to be a fantastic choice! From the minute we arrived to the time we drove off, the staff was courteous and very helpful. They were very knowledgeable about the area, and knew exactly ho to assist me with any information I wanted! The rooms were great! We had a multi-bedroom cabin that was right on the Lake, we were able to swim and fish right from shore! The room itself was clean, well put together, and very "current"! I commented to the Front Desk about this and they said they are a seasonal resort, so each winter they reassess what should be updated for the next year so everything is in top condition! We really loved the different areas of the resort, we took full advantage of the 4 swimming pools, the lake and their Tennis and Croquet center was a real treat! I had never been lawn bowling, but their staff took the time to show us how to play and got us started! The meals were by far the highlight of the trip! We ate in two of their restaurants, the Inn, and the Classic. Breakfast was a combination of Sunday brunch that my mom used to make, and a smorgasboard of first class cuisine! From crisp bacon, to chocolate waffles to eggs Benedict, they had it all! The Classic was an out of this world experience! Their staff was so knowledgeable I barely had to pick up a menu, from appetizer to dessert everything was perfect! With wine suggestions to match!
We're going back for golf this year!!!
