Have stayed at this property on several occasions. It has been recently re-modeled and is a very pleasant resort hotel. Rooms are clean, decor is nice. They used to have their own "amenities" in the bathroom "Pink Grapefruit" shampoo, lotion etc, however it appears as if they are moving away from this and going to the more generic Swiss Institute brand....minor detail, but too bad because the Borrego Springs brand was good and unique! The pool/hot tub area is close to all rooms, at the most a short walk, and those areas are nice. There is a basic fitness centre as well. The restaurant menu has changed dramatically, likely due to the economic downturn, and the effort to attract a wider clientele, it is adequate, but not the "fine dining" dinner menu it once had. If you're a golfer or a tennis player this resort has both (27 holes of golf and several lighted tennis courts).

I think "Anonymous" from Costa Mesa is referring to a different hotel/resort, not Borrego SPRINGS resort. There are no casitas nor private pools. Perhaps she is thinking Borrego Springs Ranch or the Montessoro resort.

What a wonderful gem of a resort. We rented a 2 BR casita with a private pool and it was just lovely. The resort is gorgeous, quiet and peaceful. The staff and spa services are excellent and there are many fitness amenities. You feel like you have the place to yourself. If you're looking for a lively hotspot, this isn't the place for you. However, if you are looking for an adult-oriented, tranquil retreat for rejuvenation, you will be in 7th heaven. The main restaurant was a little disappointing but everything else was outstanding and five star. I will definitely be back.

Borrego Springs Resort on our stay was clean and comfortable. It is definitely a place to consider but do some comparative shopping for costs of rooms and even call the Resort directly for information. One more thing about Borrego Springs. Be sure to book reservations at the restaurants you want to eat at if it is peak tourist season or eat early. We kept running into fully booked restaurants especially the Resorts restaurant The Arches.

Go to the seldom used pool by the restaurant. all things close early in borrego. get a 2nd floor suite facing the pool. it's great.
