  a very nice experience. the room was clean and spacious. the location of the hotel was perfect, close enough to the downtown attractions, yet in a quieter area of town. Staff was courteous and accomodating.

  This place is unbelievable for its age. We were told it was built in 1948 but looks brand new! The room was exceptionally clean, smelled great, and the beds were very comfortable. I was surprised to find cut fresh fruit for breakfast. The rooms are tucked into the hillside, quite picturesque. Staff was friendly for check in- and check out. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again.

  This is a wonderful property.The rooms are spacious, well maintained and spotless. The grounds are just beautiful and we could walk to the downtown and waterfront. I'm guessing that it is owner operated as you don't often find such attention to detail,something lacking in many chain hotels. The staff was knowledgable and friendly.Overall a great value.

  I've seen closets bigger than the bathroom we had, couldn't open the shower door all the way because it hit the tiolet, 1950's decor, paper thin walls. ...

  I've seen closets bigger than the bathroom we had, couldn't open the shower door all the way because it hit the tiolet, 1950's decor, paper thin walls. This is the kind of place that you are only excited to see/stay in when you are trying to get off the road during a raging blizzard"

  We stayed here one night and were very pleased with everything -- the room was well stocked with towels and extra blankets, was clean and very quiet. Location is great. Only bad thing was when we asked to extend our stay we weren't able to -- they were already booked up for the next night so we had to change hotels. We would've liked to stay another night!
