Bed was very comfortable, room was clean, lots of hot water for the shower. Personel were very friendly & helpful. Great location. Room was very dark, even with the lights on. No refrigerator. No screen on the window (cool enough at night to open the window rather than use the air conditioner). Restaurant was expensive and lacked variety (all German food).

This hotel is rather old and rooms are small but it has character. The manager's two dogs have free rein of the lobby taking scratches and rubs from one and all. Our kids LOVED the dogs! The complimentary breakfast is AWESOME featuring hot food instead of the normal continental breakfast fare of cereal and pre packaged sausage/biscuits. We were treated well and would definitely stay there again!

We stayed 4 days in June. The desk staff was very cordial & helpful and the room was clean & comfortable. The continental breakfast, while extensive and varied, with both hot and cold food, was only so-so. If you like heavy German food, it was fairly good but the cooked meats (sausage, bacon) were overcooked and hard. The sausage was probably the worst we've ever had. The pancakes and waffles also were overcooked and often burnt. Pastries were limited to breads and muffins. Your breakfast music is German. We did not eat any other meals (which were very expensive) after our breakfast experiences. That said, the rest of the hotel is pleasant and, if you like dogs, the desk area is often home to a pair of friendly, loveable Golden Retrievers.

I stayed at the Alpenhof the week of 1/19/09 - 1/23/09. I was extremely pleased with the hotel. I had booked a double room in case I had a friend join me for the trip. It turned out that I was alone, so at check in they immediately offered me a single king room. I believe this was a free upgrade, since the rate I booked was for either 2 double beds or 1 queen bed. I was very happy with the room -- large and well appointed. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was small but functional. The lodge itself is a great European style lodge. It might be a little dated compared to the newer hotels in Teton Village, but it also had character. My room was on the very end corner facing the Bridger ski center and gondola -- great for checking out what was going on before & after skiing. I was also close to the hot tub... a very nice bonus. As others have mentioned, the Alpenhof serves a wonderful free breakfast. Their breakfasts were some of the best food I had all trip. We're talking a complete hot buffet with eggs, good thick bacon, real german style sausage, real fresh fruit, and European style meats & cheeses. One day they even had locks and bagels. I was able to fill up on a huge free breakfast and then really save money by not having to eat much of the way overpriced food on the slopes. The main buffet (scambled eggs, sausage, bacon) didn't change day to day, but it was so good that you didn't care. The cold options (fruit, meats, cheeses, bagels, locks) did change from day to day giving you some nice variety. I was very happy with the Alpenhof!
