The front desk clerk was friendly. She gave me a map of the area. Check in was fairly quick. I had been driving for over 10 hours through torrential rain. Picked this place as a stop over in Tunica. It is not near the casinos, but is on the main rural highway that passes through Tunica. There weren't any rooms available at the casinos, so this was a second choice. It appeared clean from the outside. Inside the room, the main switch did not turn on any lights, so I had to prop the door open with my suitcase to enter and find lights that worked. The bedding looked fairly new. The room did smell a bit of bug spray. However, I just bought a brand new house in the South about 7 hours away on the same latitude, and I am constantly confronting an influx of bugs, and spiders almost daily. Ice machine was not working, but a repair order had been placed. There was a note on the machine that stated the status, and steering guests to the front office. The front desk clerk had appropriate sized ziploc bags of ice to dispense to those requesting ice. There was breakfast in the lobby that morning that consisted of sausage biscuits, coffee, juice, cereal, bagels, waffles, etc. Threre was also a sign posted on the front door that there were no vacancies. Walking back to the room after breakfast, I noticed that the license plates were from a multitude of various states, so apparently, it is not a local sleep spot, but rather one that various geographic locations frequent. They do accept pets, but there is a size limit.

We checked in on October 5, first of all you have to pay for the room before you look at it! We paid for the room, recieved the room key, and then everything went wrong. The bathroom had rings around the tub, the shower wall was dirt along with the rim of the tub, and the floors. We called the front desk, they send the manager to check it out. He came with two towels and brush to clean the tub. He didn't have cleaner! There were spiders in the bed along with hair (also on towels). The power went out for about an hour (it wasnt their fault but they didn't try to reassure the customers). The air conditioner went out in the room, the next day and the manager said that he couldnt give a discount or anything. If we left the hotel, we would be forced to pay a cancelation fee and the price for the room. The rooms had odors, remotes didn't work, coffee markers were dirty, toliets had water stains. We ended up going to the store for cleaner. We cleaned the bathrooms and changed the sheets. When we checked out the manager rushed us off. The rooms are too expensive for this type of experience.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I thought the value was good. The staff was friendly and efficient. The room was clean. I appreciated the free wireless internet. However, the connection was slow. I would not recommend it for business travelers.
