  If you are going to Fairbanks, I highly recommend this hotel. All of the rooms are studio suites, nicely furnished, clean, with very comfortable beds. My only complaint was that someone before us in our room tampered with the TV and broke the box in the back probably trying to get something free. I called the front desk and they didn't have anyone that could do anything about it even though it was still late afternoon. They did offer to move us, but since we already had all of our things in the room and unpacked, we declined. No big deal, the TV still worked by pushing the buttons on the front and there was another one in the bedroom area. The included breakfast was very good with eggs, sausage, waffles and lots of other stuff. Great location, right downtown on the river with plenty of free parking. We were on a lengthy road trip so needed to do the laundry while there. The laundry should have been larger for the size of the hotel.

  Checked in, desk clerk too busy carrying on personal conversation with another guest to pay attention to us. got to room and it was freezing. turns out window left open ...

  Checked in, desk clerk too busy carrying on personal conversation with another guest to pay attention to us. Got to room and it was freezing. Turns out window left open and boiler being serviced. Clerk did not tell us & this lasted about 3 hours during which my young grandson and I froze. No offer of portable heater or a room that hadn't been chilled to outside air temp with open window when I questioned situation. No consideration on bill either after I complained. Of course, no manager on Sat to help.

  Always love springhill suites and this one did not dissapoint. the restaurant could be improved but otherwise everything was great.

  I chose Springhill Suites because of previous good experiences at other Marriot ""Suites"" hotels. I was not disappointed. The room was great. The hotel is just across the street from the Fairbanks Visitor's Center and the Chena River. Ask for a room on the ""front"" of the hotel for this view. On one night, we enjoyed a band concert in the park across the street. The continental breakfast was great - a lot of variety with plenty to choose from. .
