Me and my wife took our son to Chapel Hill for a UNC visit and the stay was great. The hotel had maps at the front desk to help us find our way around. Shuttle servide if needed and free wirless internet so i could still keep up with my off work whike I was away. My son will attend UNC andI will stay at this Hotel evey trip to Chapel Hill

It's hard to imagine such a hotel as HIE not being considerate enough to install a hotel sign at the entrance to the road. Travelers, turn in at the sign of Hampton Inn. (Believe it or not.) You cannot see the HIE from the road because of the trees.
It's the standard HIE except for the pool being accessed only by walking through the back parking lot into and through the lobby of the Hampton Inn. Crazy.
This is the first HIE that does not freely give body lotion to its guests.
Good breakfast bar though! -

My daughter and I visited the area for our first time to visit universities and found this to be a perfect hotel. Convenient location and the staff was very helpful. Breakfast was top notch.
