We stayed here while visiting our son at Northwestern. The hotel is relatively new (Hotel Orrington and the Best Western are old) and the rooms are clean and bright. The breakfast buffet was a good value, with a variety of offerings as well as made to order omelettes. Coffee, hot water for tea, and fresh cookies are placed in the lobby each afternoon, which is a nice touch. We parked in the lot next door and had our ticket validated. (Parking is a problem in downtown Evanston and no overnight street parking allowed near the hotel. )The business center has two computers, a printer, copy machine and office supplies, which were handy. The staff was nice and helpful. Good restaurants and shops in walking distance, as well as the lake and the university. If you are going to Evanston or the surrounding area, this is the hotel to choose!

Third Time's Charm

This is the third time we have stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, and each time has been lovely. The rooms are clean, comfortable and inviting, We stayed in ""corner"" rooms this time...seem a little bigger. Fresh cookies in the pavilion in the evening for a snack! Made to order omelettes on the week-ends, and we woke up this time to a Farmer's Market on the back parking lot with fresh flowers, fruits, veggies, etc. for sale to take home. A nice surprise. It is in walking distance to the lake (even saw a doe and fawn on our jaunt), and Garrett Evangelical Seminary and Northwestern U are nearby. We would definitely stay again. I used one of their meeting rooms in an earlier visit. They were helpful in getting everything I needed, and it was very reasonabe.

Comfort for Business Travelers

Repeat stays were consistent, bar service in lobby, can walk to restaurants downtown, breakfast costs extra, parking lot on block, front desk staff very professional, has restaurant but downtown restaurants better for dinner. Would prefer to stay there again when visiting

We were in Evanston for a wedding and loved the hotel. It was well situated to walking around ""downtown Evanston"" with its restaurants ans shops. Thursdays in the sumer feature outdoor entertaimetn dn dancing!. THe hotel staff was accomdating adn te food was good. THe only difficulty is parking- no on street overnight parkign adn you must use the lot which is quite full on the weekends.
