avoid this place at all costs
08/20/2007My girlfriend and i booked this lodge for four nights after looking at it on their website. after one night, we canceled and found another motel.

The room was not clean, and the bathroom was awful. The toilet bowl had a ring inside at least 2 years old. The carpets were loose and posed a walking hazard. The screen door fell off every time we opened it. The curtains were not attached to the overhead rods, and had giant gaps for us to look out, and others to look in. There were nails and cigerette butts on the covered balconey. The remote did not work, it was a different model than the tv. And, the unit below ours had a drunk group that never talked, they yelled.
The staff agreed to refund our remaining three days and were helpful in checking out.
There are much nicer places to stay at Big Bear, with much better prices. Try them. -

We had a prepaid reservation however, there was no room available on arrival. After trying to check in twice, the hotel attempted to put us in the managers unit, which did not have a proper or working lock and the ceiling light was dangling precariously over the bed. The hotel claimed there was nothing else available and refused to refund our money. We will probably make a complaint with the BBB and CA lodging/hotel board.

On lake with friendly staff. Liked ping pong table for kids and BBQ area/boat dock on lake. This is a Non smoking hotel which is good for me and my friends. Rooms were clean.
