This hotel was a disappointment. The rooms were nice inside, but had very little natural light and none had any kind of views that we saw. The food was mediocre and the only places to eat that were air-conditioned required reservations. Reservations were nearly impossible to get. The hotel was not busy and the pool was nearly empty. Nonetheless, when we arrived the first night at 5:00 pm, we were told the reservations were closed for the day and cannot be made in advance - so we had no option but to eat at the outdoor steamy hot main buffet. The next morning, we started calling the reservation line at 7:59 am and didn't get through until about 8:12 am, at which time we were told all the tables for the Italian restaurant were gone for the day except outside on the patio. We decided to take the patio at 8:15 pm, but were accosted by raccoons, mosquitos, and steamy incredible heat, so we didn't stay for dinner. The hotel has strict rules about everything -- towels are handed out like the military, with strict records kept and only one daily change allowed. The beachside toys (kayaks, etc.) and bikes are only available until 4:00 pm. Reservations for the sunset cruise must be made in person and are sold out quickly. Bottled water is not available at breakfast, supposedly because the bar is closed then. The poolside bar closes at 6:00 pm and the only option after that time is to go to the main seated buffet or room sersvice. The beach itself is nice, but the moment you walk onto it, you are accosted by local people trying to sell trinkets and activities -- it doesn't feel safe.

The hotel was wonderful. We paid the upgrade to be w/o kids. Every night we were the only people swimming in the pool at midnight. Butler service was excellent. Grounds beautiful. Hotel offers sunset cruises, kayaks, etc for free. rented a motorcycle for dirt cheap and drove around the country.Restaurants were good, especially the Italian and the Mexican. Because of the economy, the steak house was closed. All the alcohol you can drink..I highly recommend the hotel and visit the nearby towns of Flamingo and Taramindo.

Stayed here for 7 nights with my spouse. Upon our arrival we were greeted with the warm, friendly staff. We had asked to be upgraded to Royal Service as we had tried with our agent before we left but they were all booked. However when we arrived we asked & were told that they did have a room available for us in Royal Service. The little extra's as running a bath for you, turning down your bed, arranging dinner reservations as well as tours with our private butler was wonderful. We felt spoiled. Having the option of the adult only area was good for us as we both don't have children. It was nice to swim in the pool or sit by the pool with a little quietness. If we wanted more action we went over to the main pool which was just as nice. The beach area was outside the resort but it was in close walking distance & clean. If you can't walk they have shuttles that take you around the resort. The only recommedation that I have is that you book your dinner reservations as soon as possible as the earlier times filled up so we were always having a late dinner. All and all this hotel met our expectations. We would defitnetly stay here again.

Friendly, great food, beautiful place. Def upgrade to Royal service for a romatic vaca. There u get a pool that doesn't allow kids, with its own swim up bar. Even with out the upgrades you are treated like royalty. Great beaches. Night life is lacking, but there is so much to do during the day I was too tired to do much at night anyway
