This year we stayed 3 days in the Mountain Lodge again for the “Fire On The Mountain Chili Cook-Off”. Just like last year the staff was great, the room was great and you would be hard pressed to find a better package of restaurants, bars, stores and activities in one area as a vacation destination. The staff that runs the weekly events at the resort during the summer do a great job of taking care of the guest and competitors. The only bad thing the whole weekend was that it rained and was in the 70’s all weekend but that is up to Mother Nature and we have to take what she gives us! A great place to stay and spend a week or weekend.

This ""Snowshoe Inn"" is part of the Showshoe Resort however I was surprised to find it was not at the top of the mountain with all the other lodging options, it stands alone at the bottom of the hill. The staff was friendly but the rooms were very dark with old furnishings. The bath was poorly maintained and although clean had stained fixtures and very low quality feel. Beds were old with low quality mattress and linens. The whole place is in dire need of a major facelift and renovation.
