We picked this hotel due to it allowing our dog. We got a first floor room that opened up to the still active pool (Halloween weekend) and that allowed our dog to sit outside the room, but still be "in the room". Staff was friendly and breakfast was standard but fresh. The bathroom was clean, the room smelled a bit like dog (even before we brought ours in), but it was not overpowering and had room for the dog's crate. Having public beach access right across the street was nice. We were able to walk the dog around the hotel and still feel safe (it's in a partial residential/rental home area), but lights on the south and west side of the hotel would have been nice. All in all an enjoyable stay and we will return next year.

The Travelodge in Kill Devill Hills (outer banks) was just what you'd expect from a 1 to 2 star motel. Nothing fancy but a good value for the money. The motel was located across the street from the beach entrance and was clean. The pool was clean and comfortable as well. The free breakfast left was bagles and cereal as you'd expect for the price. All and all not a bad place.

We were not given the room that was reserved upon arrival, but staff was able to switch us the next day when correct room was available. First room was handicapped room with cracked tile in the bathroom, hole in the blanket, and no soap. Neither bathroom was very clean, both had mold on tiles. Ice machine had dirt/dust on ice and was not repaired during our stay even after staff was notified. This is not a five star hotel, but would at least expect it to be clean and repairs made. We would not recommend this hotel.

This hotel was very nice. We were very close to the beach, easily walking to the beach. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were in great shape. The free breakfast in the morning was nothing fancy but if you want to eat fancy you will go to a restaurant anyway. We had a first floor room off of the pool and the kids enjoyed this very much. We just walked out of our room and were at the pool. The kitchenette was small but the space provided was enough for what we needed with a refridgerator, microwave, coffee maker and cabinet space to store groceries. I would absolutely stay here again hopefully soon.
