I guess this hotel used to be a Baymont and is now a Magnuson? never stayed in one before, but it was clean and satisfied our needs. Most convenient hotel if you are in DeKalb fpor stuff at NIU.

Checked into this hotel after months being reserved. The 1 hotel clerk was friendly, but the hotel left a lot to be desired. Train tracks bordering hotel that had quite a bit of train traffic and could be heard/felt in room. Thin walls, could here someone practicing flute in their room, somewhere on our floor I guess. Small pool, no hot tub.We checked out and went elsewhere .

I was NOT impressed with this stay. The maintenance of the hotel was less than to be expected anywhere. Trash container by third level soda machine stayed un-emptied for three days. Baby diapers on floor under table in pool area stayed for a day and a half. Appeared housekeeping was not a priority here. Room cleaning was less than desireable. Ashtrays in room were not emptied. And I found a shirt in the tank of the toilet. Comment Cards were not available at the end of my stay, personally I would think twice about staying again at this particular Baymont on my future visits to Dekalb. "

Pleasant stay at the Baymont
08/27/2006The room was comfortable, the breakfast was good, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. we will look for other baymont hotels in future travels.

We had a reservation at another hotel but they got mixed up so this was an impulse pick. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and nicely appointed. The bar & grill close by was good and in walking distance. This is the first time we have stayed at a Baymont but will probably stay at others in the future based on this stay.
