The hotel is clean. Very modern looking. Rooms are excellent. Bathroom is - wow. But then there is the fact that water costs $3, internet costs something ;not sure, wasn't brave enough to find out;, no complimentary breakfast, breakfast menu was exorbitantly overpriced. Desk was helpful but not friendly. Restaurant and bar - wayyy too expensive. Food is okay. Proximity to transportation almost makes up for the rest of the shortcomings. Bus, rail, PATH and ferry are all very close - great for getting around.

The hotel is nice, and new. The view is very beautiful of Manhattan. The Car Attendants were very helpful and nice. The beds were good, the pillows were nice. The parking was expensive $35 but not as expensive as Manhattan. They are about 10 minutes from the Liberty Island. Not much to do outside of that. Good for one night.

Had planned on staying here for years just for the view and finally got there this trip to NYC, and the view was everything I had hoped. Room was in the mid-500's, large and nice and quiet. ( I had been warned to stay away from the bottom floor and the ballroom to avoid noise). Dining had an even better view but was pricey even for NYC. Nothing wrong but not extraordinary either (except both servers were wonderful). The big negative was the train ride into midtown was much more time consuming than I had expected. The blue line is all locals to and from WTC and the PATH under the river. We had arranged to meet a friend at church in the 70's and all but missed them. Perhaps a water taxi drops you farther north? Still, if flying through Newark it splits the difference and made leaving for home easier. Will keep it in mind for first or last night for sure, even if staying in Manhattan in the middle. Jersey City in the immediate area is redeveloped and mostly new, and there is a local light rail I didn't ride. There are some, if not many, other places to eat, but many closed on weekend.

This Hyatt is a jewel. This is the best kept secret of New York. If you stay here, you will not be disappointed. The view from this hotel is superb. The best skyline views of Manhattan and the Hudson River will greet you from the moment that you enter the hotel, till the moment that you leave. With every room, you have a wonderful view of the skyline of New York City. Transportation is easy. Take the PATH train into World Trade Center or farther into the City to 34th Street. Once in the City, you can take the New York City subway system. This hotel is in a great location, with great views, with friendly staff. The hotel does not look like much from the outside, but once you are inside, you will not be disappointed with the quality of this hotel. This is one of Hyatt's best hotels. Hyatt has many wonderful hotels, but you are visiting New York, stay here... I guarantee you will not be disappointed with the location. The statue of liberty is moments away from the hotel. And, New York is less than a 5 minute train ride away. Walk around Ground Zero to the big glass building adjacent to Ground Zero that looks like an large glass dome, for the best views of Ground Zero (1 Financial Center), I think is the address to this building. This view of Ground Zero is a must, so you can reflect upon what happened on that day. After you have visited Ground Zero, you day in New York and the fun begins from the moment you leave your hotel. You must visit China town, 34th Street, NBC, the sea port, central park... You can do all of that in one day. - Unlimited Metro Card....
