My son and I stayed at the Kasha August 2007. I read the reviews and most were accurate in its description. We had a bungalow that was well kept / clean and quite comfortable. This is not the place to stay if you require AC / TV or contemporary. You are somewhat 'roughing' it at the Kasha. (as compared to Western / European standards) It should be noted that the Carib side of Costa Rica is not as well developed as the Pacific coast. There is a 'rawness' about it that gives it its charm and flavor. The road in PV is Horrendous! The 'windows' of the bungalow are screened (no glass - I think 2 of the windows did have glass / bathroom window did not have glass). Very outdoorsy! There is a hammock on the porch. It is quite serene at the Kasha. There is a small clean pool. The shower was luke warm and felt wonderful! We woke up every morning to the howler monkey's! I loved it! My son walked to the beach - and it is not as close as we thought. The owner of the property was gracious and personable. We only ate the free breakfast at the hotel once and I found it so -so. This hotel is not for everyone. PV is not for everyone. If you are used to luxury or the minimum of hotel / motel amenities - do not even think about staying here. As a matter of fact you should not even think of going to Puerto Viejo! You get the basics at Kasha. A warm shower, 2 pillows on the bed , mother nature ac (a sea breeze) and toilet! . You would some mode of transportation to get to the restaurants / entertainment!
