  We picked this hotel because of the handy location to sites we wanted to see and stayed 2 nights. The restaurant and lounge were very nice. Food was good. However, the room had a bad odor and desperately needs remodeling. Housekeeping appeared to be a bit lazy. We had to ask for shampoo, coffee cups--things that should have been in the room when we arrived. We would not stay here again even though generally we like this chain.

  Our room was not clean. THe carpet is very dirty. I could not walk around bare foot. There was dog waste found behind a chair. We didn't get an adequate response from the front desk when we called down to report this. All she said was "I'm sorry, have a good night". I will never stay at this hotel again.

  The room was clean. Beds were comfortable. Location was convenient to downtown Charlottesville. We were in town for a concert at the Charlottesville Pavilion. It cost about $ for the 4 of us to take a taxi from the hotel to the pedestrian mall. I would stay at this hotel again.
