We stayed at the Days Inn, Kittery ME. It is maybe a mile or so south of the outlets. The persons at the desk were quite pleasant and helpful. Our room was on the main floor but only accessible by driving down behind the office and up about 6 steps, then down a hall. The hall was nicely decorated as was our room. I noted a slight unpleasant smell in the lobby, but it was barely noticeable. If I had not read about the smell in other reviews, I might not have noticed it. Our room had no smell! My husband, in trying to find our room went downstairs. He said he could smell a musty smell, but again, not bad. Our room had a King-sized bed which was among the most comfortable that I've rested on. The linens were very clean, with a slight odor of bleach. We were warm and cozy. The toilet, however, was quite short. I am only 5'3" and still, with back and knee problems, had trouble getting to sit on it. My husband agreed it was quite short! The breakfast consisted of bagels, English muffins, toast, two cereals, coffee, tea and two juices. The orange juice definitely tasted like semi-juice drink, not real oj, but, hey, for the price, one can not have everything. This hotel was a good deal for the price or even a little more as we got a reduced price.

The front desk was friendly and helpful, the room service was adequate, the pool was closed...which was one of the reasons we chose this hotel....it didn't state that online when I reserved the room......the rooms are outdated and musty, overall....next time....I will spend the money and stay somewhere else.....

Many things went wrong! - they gave us the wrong key and we actually walked in someone elses room - there was a funny smell (stench) throughout the whole hotel - they ran out continuously of breakfast items. we had to beg to get food one day - the service was absolutely lousy

The room was very dirty, rug not vacuumed, and dirty, walls dirty, bathroom walls dirty, bathroom floor dirty, blood on shower curtain and the vanity was dirty. There were just enough towels for one person, when two of us had reserved the room. The heating system was broken and I had to play thermostat all night shutting off the heat when it got too hot and turning it back on when it got cold. The staff was cold and abrupt. Breakfast consisted of weak coffee, dry cornflakes, three pieces of bread, and two 1/2 pieces of a bran muffin and stale donut holes. There was no hair dryer, no iron, no iron board. The website quoted a price with a $ a night surcharge for a pet, but the charge was $ a night when we got to the hotel. I would not stay at this Days Inn again and I would not recommend it to anyone

For the price we paid, the motel was what we expected. It was a little worn, but it was clean. The staff was friendly. The free breakfast (again you get what you pay for) had weak coffee and limited cereal/breads from which to choose. We would stay there again, being that we look for bargains and only needed a place to sleep for the night.
