To cut to the chase - the carpet was spotty, filthy and ripped, the walls were dirty, the paint was chipping with obvious patch marks, the lights were very dim and didn't all work (the table lamp - for a very small table - shorted out from time to time), the inside of the mini-fridge smelled strongly of cleaning solution, and the clock and table were sticky with God-knows-what. On the other hand, the staff appear to be polite, the wi-fi worked fine, the bed seemed clean, and the bathroom seemed clean if dingy. The window was not locked (gulp!) The air conditioner worked OK but was smelly when it was first turned on, and noisy (wall-mount style). In other words, most of the superficialities were covered but there has been no significant investment in the hotel for ages, apparently. I can't imagine anyone finding this acceptable or even a bargain. I suppose if I had paid half the price I would have expected something like this, but I found myself wishing that I had gone camping instead (I had my gear with me). I would have felt cleaner and safer. Cortez has lots of motels - you can do better than this one. I wish I had.

This was the kind of hotel you kept your socks on in the room. The kids love pools, but even this one they were not interested in going into. You could see light coming through all the edges of the door. The courtyard view was the parking lot. Steer clear of this place, not worth the cheap price...

Easy to locate; basic room was clean. Large Bed was comfy and we were able to use the guest laundry. Motels in Cortez can be quite expensive (we have stayed in Cortez before at various chains for more than double this price). This was a real bargain, especially if you are on the go. Guest laundry useful.. Pool was warm and open late in the evening. Park right outside your motel room door. We will definitely book here again for trip to Mesa Verde and area. Thanks.

Someones beer can was left under the bed. SO much for cleaning. Rooms not well kept, pool scummy. Did not want to give towels for pool ""didnt think they had any"". Did not sleep well at all. Glad we only stayed one night

Do not let the photo of the restaurant fool you. this hotel has no affiliation with it at all. I t just happens to be next door. Secondly Although the bedding smelled clean the room was in need of repair. and there were cob webs along the ceilings. At night I woke feeling something crawling on my arm. I grushed it away off the bed afraid to see what it was. 5 minutes laer it was back. I did the same and turned on the light. My husband found what looked like a hairy centepede in the covers of where I was sleepng. We slept with the light on, got up with the sun and left.
