The motel looks nice and the decor is different- bright carpeted hallways. The breakfast area is like a 50's dinner. We were only there for the night to attenda funeral the next day, so we weren't looking for any extras. It was what we needed at the time. Bed was comfortable, bathroom a bit small, you feel like the shower curtain is in your face when they have the curved rod and the toilet right beside it. I don't really like having the sink outside of the bathroom, but I suppose to some it is a plus. Overall the motel was clean and the breakfast good, and the room adequate.

stayed in december and got a $250 surcharge billed to my credit card!! i've tried 8 times to speak with the manager to see what this extra charge is all about and he's avoiding all my phone calls. i left many messages and tried to talk with the front desk to no avail. no one seems to know what the charge is for or why i never had to sign for an extra $250. if you stay here make sure you check your credit card statement. upon check-out, i signed for the bill for my room rate only and my life is now consumed with trying to make phone calls that go unanswered to resolve this. this is unacceptable that a hotel can charge on your cedit card whatever they want and you don't even know it. believe me this room was no where near worth an extra $250. buyer beware!!!! breakfast was awful, arcade was awful and the bed was lumpy. small room - old fashion looking -dated decor-you get what you pay for -except in my case - i got swindled.

Wow is all that my guests had to say to describe this awesome hotel. I usually host my conference seminars at the Marriott property in Manchester or at the Sheraton in East Hartford. Well they overbooked their meeting space so I was left to look for an alternate meeting space a few days prior to my meeting. After several unsuccessful calls, I gave up and called my local travel agency for help. They recommended the Super 8 Motel in Manchester. Hum, this wasn't appealing to me as the Super 8's are usually unattractive and incompatible with a high profile seminar. I was unsure about this and decided to do some online research about the property. I found many highly satisfied reviews from their guests online and found their independent web site. I then called Super 8 Motel corporate office in NJ and talked with district manager X. He stated that this property had received the ""pride of super 8"" award five years in a row and that it is more of a ""home away from home"" hotel. He stated that the hotel had a great inspection record and that the general manager Y was fundamental in establishing and implementing customer service policies that answered their guests need and concerns. They have just converted their whole property to non-smoking status (not a small task but I loved the clean smell). They also recently completed their first renovations (they have only been built six years ago). I then contacted the property itself. The gentleman answering the phone (I think his name was Z) spoke politely and answered all my questions. He helped me with my catering needs, my meeting room space and fulfilled my needs for twelve guest rooms. He took care of everything. I asked if the GM could call me and Z promised he would within a few minutes. Well this is rare time when promises where kept. Mr. Y returned my call less than two minutes later. He faxed me a copy of my menu as well as my confirmation. He assured me all would be well. I was still a little skeptical; I mean this is a Super 8 after all. The meeting day finally came and I flew into Bradley International Airport. The hotel had arranged a pickup for me and the Van was hard to miss. It was a newer Chevy 15 passenger van with the Super 8 slogan and lettering. It looked and smelled freshly cleaned and off we rode. The driver was very professional and safe. We arrived at the property about twenty minutes later. The hotel looked more like a Hilton than a Super 8. Landscaping was nice and up kept, building was beautiful and had lots of parking. The second I entered I felt right at home. I noticed all the artwork and decorations and felt that this was a well kept secret. I mean they even have a fifties breakfast room, an arcade, a fitness room etc... I asked if they had an office I could use and they showed me their business center (complete with a round table, pc, fax, copier and phone). I asked if it was free and it was! The manager (A) then showed me the meeting room and asked if I needed any changes. It looked great. The tan tablecloth looked clean and pressed. The notepads and pens looked new (not from a previous meeting) and the podium with the lcd projector was immaculate. I thought I was at the Marriot. My room was perfect too. It was big and bright. The wallpaper was much nicer than the typical white walls and the artwork looked good too. They have fridge and microwaves as well as safes, hair dryers etc... in all rooms. The meeting went great and everyone loved their stay. The attention to details and love that the staff has for their work and their environment is felt during the whole stay. My last day came much too soon and I settled the bill. My bill was almost two thousand less than my original meeting plans at the Marriott. And this included all the expenses for twelve rooms, the four meeting rooms that I had (almost five hundred people attended), the delicious food (catered by Manelly's) and all tax. I definitely recommend this hotel to everyone and would have no problem renting a room for my parents should the need arise. Don't hesitate to call them and ask for the manager. They took care of all my needs and the staff (from front desk, sales, management, housekeeping etc...) couldn't have taken better care of me. It felt like an oversized bed and breakfast. Checkout the different floors as they are all decorated.
